The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, John Hutton MP, has agreed to appear before the next open meeting of the APPG on ME to speak about his Department’s controversial proposals to revise the medical guidance on ME/CFS for Disability Living Allowance and Carer’s Allowance decision-makers.

The proposals are currently the subject of much discussion with the national ME charities and their medical advisers. Indeed their next meeting to discuss the revised guidance with the working group concerned will be taking place during the morning of the APPG, at the Department for Work and Pensions.

The APPG meeting will be held in Committee Room 19, Portcullis House, Westminster, at 2.30pm on Thursday July 20, and will last for one hour.
